Monique Comacchio

Monique Comacchio currently lives and works in Berkeley, California as a letterpress printer, graphic designer and design instructor. She studied Romance Languages and Fine Art at the University of Oregon, then pursued a master's degree in Industrial Design with an emphasis on Graphic Design from San Francisco State University. 

Following her studies, she began working in the signage/environmental graphic design industry, both in the US and UK for clients such as the SF Airport, Oracle, Stanford University and the Covent Garden Opera and Ballet Theatre. Returning to the US, after working in England, she had the fortune of meeting Peter Koch and was introduced to letterpress printing and book design. What started out as a hobby became her passion and business. Along with her practice, she teaches graphic design at City College of San Francisco and at San Francisco State University. Working and teaching design offers her the opportunity to keep in tune with the ever-changing aspects of the practice and our communities.
